Were you able to get out and enjoy the warm temperatures this past weekend? We even slept with the windows open all night! Great weather! We went on a short road trip and surprisingly needed to use the A/C.
Maybe you needed to use your A/C too. If so, did it work ok? Did it cool like it should? If not, you will want to get your vehicle into a repair shop to get the A/C system working properly, so that when it really gets warm you will be able to ride in cool comfort.
Why would the A/C not be cooling like it should? The refrigerant in the air conditioner contains a special oil that lubricates and cools the A/C parts. When this refrigerant leaks out, your air conditioner quits working and doesn’t circulate lubricant. The parts don’t have enough oil to protect them so they wear out faster than they should. At Bob’s Auto Service we recommend checking your A/C system per your owner’s manual or annually in the spring.
Did you know? The Federal Environmental Protection Agency regulates the type of refrigerant you can use in your air conditioner. A new type of refrigerant is available and getting more use in our vehicles. This refrigerant is used to reduce greenhouse gasses.
