What is a child lock for my car?
A child lock for your car allows the back seat door to be opened from the outside only. It’s a safety feature for children.
This feature has been used in vehicles since the early 1980s. A driver can activate a child lock in one of two ways. 1. manually on the door itself 2. pushing a lock button on the driver’s door or on the dash.
Your vehicle’s owners manual will have this information for your specific vehicle.
If your child will be riding in a different vehicle be sure to ask the driver to activate the child locks so that everyone continues to ride safely.
