We want to wish a Happy Father’s Day to our Dads, fathers, papas, step-dads, partners and grandpas. To have such a title is a real privilege.

Some of our memories make us laugh, cry, giggle or just simply smile. I remember my dad as someone who was soft spoken, but loved his kids and grandkids! As a young girl Dad would tease me about wearing garments on my back. I, of course, did not know what garments were. I promptly demanded that he “take them off!” He would laugh and Mom would tell me what they were.

Dad also teased me about wearing striped clothing. I do recall some striped pajamas in particular. In later years I would start teasing him about stripes too. I even made some personalized striped gifts for Dad. *Think puffy paints and traditional gifts.

When Dad passed away in 2008, I bought a huge STRIPED coffee mug and placed it in the coffin (so he could enjoy it in Heaven).  Love and miss you, Dad!
