Are you enjoying our “feeling like summer” weather? Is your vehicle’s air conditioning ready for the warmer temperatures?
Maybe you needed to use the A/C this weekend. On our trip to Iowa for Mother’s Day, we were very thankful that our air conditioner was working. Maybe you needed to use your A/C too. If so, did it work ok? Did it cool like it should? If not, you will want to get your vehicle into a repair shop to get the A/C system working properly, so that when it really gets warm you will be able to ride in cool comfort.
Why would the A/C not be cooling like it should? The refrigerant in the air conditioner contains a special oil that lubricates and cools the A/C parts. When this refrigerant leaks out, your air conditioner quits working and doesn’t circulate lubricant. The parts don’t have enough oil to protect them so they wear out faster than they should. At Bob’s Auto Service we recommend checking your A/C system per your owner’s manual or annually in the spring.
Did you know? The Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)regulates the type of refrigerant you can use in your air conditioner. A new type of refrigerant is available and getting more use in our vehicles. This refrigerant is used to reduce greenhouse gasses.
