Premature wear of tires is due to lack of improper maintenance of the tire or not following the manufactures recommendations for use. Tires are not cheap. You will want to replace tires in pairs and keep track of the tire pressure.
There are several reasons that a tire will show premature wear. Some of these are (in order): 1.improper tire pressure. Be sure to have the PSI (tire pressure) checked once a month. The driver’s door has a sticker that will tell you the PSI needed for optimal performance. 2.vehicle being out of alignment. Minimally, have your vehicle aligned in Spring and Fall. 3.driving with worn struts or shocks 4.lack of tire rotation 5.heavy braking 6.trucks hauling loads heavier than vehicle designed for 7.worn suspension parts.
The tires, in these two pictures, were put on the car at the same time. Due to lack of rotation the front tires were heavily worn on the corners. Unfortunately the customer had to buy two new tires as you generally replace 2 tires at a time. This is so that the tread pattern is the same which is the best for safety.
