Is it time for an oil change?
Most of the time an oil change is determined by the mileage on your vehicle. If you do not know the mileage from your last oil change, you can check the color of the oil.
When new oil is added to your vehicle it is a golden yellow color and translucent. Meaning it is somewhat see through.
During an oil change, the oil is black and opaque. If you go past the recommended miles before you have the oil changed, the oil starts to lose its viscosity. It means the additives that are in the oil start to break down and the oil is not able to do its job as well.
