As part of October’s Car Care Awareness education; we are going to discuss two topics: wipers and lights.
Having good wipers are crucial for this time of year. Fall typically means more rain (sometimes snow). And with that rain is a need for good wipers. Here’s that question… When was the last time your wipers were replaced? If they are squeaking or simply not wiping well, you will need to replace them. This goes for your rear wiper also. As a general rule, wipers should be replaced every 6 months. The extreme weather temps, during summer and winter, does wear them out faster.
Not only do we get more rain in the Fall, but we also have more darkness. Being able to see well (and be seen) is really important. Check your headlights, taillights and all brake lights. I’ve seen many vehicles lately with lights that are not working. You’re not as safe if your lights are not working.
Maybe your headlights are still working, but they are clouded over due to being outside in the elements. Getting the headlights polished will increase your safety on the road.
