THIS PLACE SCAMS PEOPLE. I've brought two cars there. First, an alero I knew was in bad shape. I wasn't surprised when they told me it wasn't worth fixing. However, my parents were able to sell it as is for $1,000. When the shop owner said that it should just go to a junkyard. Then, I bought a 2011 Chevy that had just been fixed up and inspected by a mechanic. First oil change was great. They said it was 6 months before another oil change because of the type. I bring it back in 6 months and now they say I have to come every 3 months. Okay, not a big deal probably just a mistake. But then the next day after taking it home my car starts shaking whenever I drive below 40mph. I have my dad hook it up to the scanner they use at shops to see if there is a computer issue: no issue. Take it back to Bob's, and they quote me for$1,400 worth of repairs. I didn't have the money to fix it. I went to drive it home, and it wouldn't start. They did replace $20 worth of spark plugs for free to get it running after spending $90 to get an "inspection". I drove it home with the new spark plugs, and it ran fine. I didn't have the shaking problem again. I wanted to get another opinion on the car because it seemed to be running fine. The place I went to did it for free and said it was running great and that I didn't need to fix anything. The car has been running great for 6 months now with no problems. Save yourself the money and hassle and go to a different place. Services: Oil change, Auto engine diagnostic
Good afternoon, Kathryn. Safety is a top priority at Bob's Auto Service. We send customers a digital inspection with pictures for all of our recommendations. It is common for us to prioritize the needed repairs to meet the customer's budget, yet keeping their vehicle safe to drive. Glad the spark plugs resolved the issue of not running. Remember, a car that runs great doesn't always = a safe vehicle to drive.
