Maintenance on Differential

Maintenance on Differential

These pictures show us another example of why car maintenance is so important. We all have the habit of putting off maintenance services because everything else is more important or we are afraid of the potential cost involved. The first picture is of a differential that has moisture in the gear oil. The second picture compares fresh clean gear oil (on the left) and contaminated oil (on the right--from a different vehicle). It is easy to see what happens to gear oil over time. When moisture is added in, you get that muddy color as well. With a little extra time, we can clean it all up and get the vehicle back in service. When was the last time your differential, transmission, and transfer case fluids were serviced? Maintenance really is the key to keeping your vehicle on the road for a long time!

Fluid Checks

Fluid Checks

Fluid checks are so important, especially during these cold months. As you read down the list, you will notice that washer fluid is listed. You may be wondering; how does washer fluid keep my car running properly? Well, it doesn't directly. It is very important for drivers to keep their windshields fairly clear for safety reasons. The added perk is that windshield washer fluid is formulated to get rid of dirt and grime that can accumulate on our windshield during the winter months. We can easily check your fluid levels at your next visit. Just mention it and we will get it done for you

The Exhaust System

The Exhaust System

Most of us don't think too much about our exhaust system until... something happens, and our vehicle starts making this incredibly loud noise! It becomes so loud that we can't even carry on a conversation, we can't hear the music playing and EVERY person we drive past begins staring at us! Don't let this happen to you! Make an appointment and have your exhaust system checked so you don't have to be that person everyone is staring at. For information on the muffler (one part of the exhaust system), click on this link: https://knowhow.napaonline.com/what-does-a-muffler-do/
