Have you been using your vehicle's defroster this Fall? With the cooler temps and moisture in the air, our defrosters are getting the job done keeping our windshields nice and clear. The defroster is a part of both the cooling and the air conditioning systems. Both systems are used to get moisture off the inside and outside of your windows. So, if your air conditioner is not working YOU WILL have problems with your vehicle defrosting your vehicle's windows! A problem with the defrost system can most often be traced to one of the following: **The cooling system **The heater core **The heater valves or blend air doors **The air conditioning system ** The blower fan Be safe this winter. This is generally true for our cars in September. Cool mornings and warm/hot days. I love this time of the year! Perfect weather for layering your clothing to last throughout the temperature changes during the day. Do you enjoy this time of the year too?

Today is one of those days (and weeks) that you could keep a cacti desert in the dash of your car, and it would be extremely happy! Stay safe out there and be sure to check on your elderly neighbors and/or pets.

How's the Cooling System in your vehicle performing this year? What? How would I know this? As you know the coolant in your vehicle keeps the engine cool. Coolant, also known as antifreeze, is formulated to keep the engine at safe temperatures during all driving temperatures. Without coolant, or very low coolant, the engine could get too hot and seize up. This would be the worst-case scenario. And a very expensive one! Not only do you want to monitor the coolant level periodically, you also will need to do a coolant exchange about every 80,000 miles. Check your owner's manual for your manufacturer's recommendation. The exchange is important because the additives in the coolant can become depleted with all the hard work they have to do. A simple PH test will detect the coolants acidity level.
