Car Care Awareness in October

October is Car Care Awareness Month. Bob would like to remind you of these important maintenance items to address in October (before the snow flies)! 1. TIRES- how is the tread? are they wearing evenly? do they need to be rotated? 2. BRAKES- think safety here 3. WIPER BLADES, defrosters and heater - you will be thanking yourself when the precipitation begins to fall (rain, sleet, snow) 4. BATTERY- you do not want to be left stranded in winter weather! 5. LIGHTS-- be sure your headlights, taillights, brake lights, fog lights, and hi-beams are in working order. - again, safety is the concern If your vehicle is in need of any of these services, give us a call or make the appointment online. 608-782-1375 or ... read more

Cruise Control Inventor

Cruise Control Inventor

Cruise control... almost hard to remember a car that didn't have this feature. This feature has been a staple in vehicles since the early 1950s. Ralph Teetor invented the cruise control as a blind young adult. Ralph was an auto enthusiast by the young age of five. It was at this age that his sight was taken during a shop accident, but he would go on to earn a degree as a Mechanical Engineer. Ralph would use this degree to develop several auto related parts at his family's business. The inspiration for the cruise control came after Ralph's experience being a passenger in his lawyer's car. His lawyer would speed up too fast and then would need to apply the brakes often. This bad habit drove Ralph crazy, so he came up with the cruise control as a solution to his problem. Ingenuus! Thank you, Ralph! The link below has more details about Ralph Teetor and his invention of the cruise control ... read more

TPMS Sensors for Your Vehicles

TPMS Sensors for Your Vehicles

TMPS; you’ve heard that term before, but what does it mean? It stands for Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Just like the name suggests; they monitor your tire pressure. Most cars today have one on each tire. Sometimes spare tires will also have this sensor. When this warning light comes on, do not ignore it! So, I had this warning light come on for my car. They found a nail in the tire. Non-repair zone… of course. Got 4 new tires because of being 4-wheel drive. “The Car Care Council’s new video about the TPMS system explains the meaning of the symbol on your dashboard and its importance to vehicle safety,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. The new TPMS video from the Car Care Council can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prix-fvsfKw ... read more
