Have you been using your vehicle's defroster this Fall? With the cooler temps and moisture in the air, our defrosters are getting the job done keeping our windshields nice and clear. The defroster is a part of both the cooling and the air conditioning systems. Both systems are used to get moisture off the inside and outside of your windows. So, if your air conditioner is not working YOU WILL have problems with your vehicle defrosting your vehicle's windows! A problem with the defrost system can most often be traced to one of the following: **The cooling system **The heater core **The heater valves or blend air doors **The air conditioning system ** The blower fan Be safe this winter. Give us a call if you have any questions about your cooling or A/C systems. 608-782-1375.

My speedometer broke yesterday! Now what do I do? Even though this is an uncommon repair; it does happen. First of all, yes, you can still drive your car but be aware of your speed. Are you keeping up with the vehicles around you? Are you passing more people than usual? Are more people passing you than usual? Secondly, check the fuse that controls the speedometer, the instrument cluster fuse. If this is ok, then your best bet is to call us at Bob's Auto to have one of our skilled techs take a look. We will check things like the instrument cluster, wheel speed sensor, wiring (rodents are horribly cruel to auto wiring) or a faulty ECU (electrical control unit). Stay safe out there!

What Causes Corrosion on Top of My Battery? Corrosion on top of a battery is usually caused by the battery itself leaking acid through a seal and around the post. The corrosion could also have built up due to a bad connection. You should clean up the corrosion. If it comes right back, it is time to replace the battery. BE VERY CAREFUL when handling a corroded battery and take preventive measures. Wear latex or latex-free gloves and safety glasses.
